Confirmed : Belgian Club KV Oostende End Their Association With Super Eagles Striker
Through a press release, Belgian club K.V. Oostende have announced that they have ended their association with Super Eagles striker Joseph Akpala.

The 33-year-old returned for a second spell with K.V. Oostende in November 2019 and went on to make seven appearances in all competitions, scoring one goal against RSC Anderlecht.

His original deal was supposed to run out at the end of last month but it was extended until last Saturday.

In his first spell with K.V. Oostende from 2015-2018, he scored 20 goals in 97 games.

A product of Pepsi Football Academy, Akpala previously represented Belgium clubs Sporting Charleroi and Club Brugge.

His other teams include Werder Bremen, Karabukspor, Al-Faisaly, Bendel United and Bendel Insurance.

Akpala's finest moment in a Super Eagles shirt was netting the winning goal in a friendly against France in 2009.
