Inter Milan Coach Conte Gives Reason For Not Utilising Chelsea Loanee Moses Vs SPAL
Published: July 17, 2020
Victor Moses was a non-playing substitute as Inter Milan consolidated their position in the Champions League places with a 4-0 rout of SPAL at the Stadio Paolo Mazza (Ferrara) on Thursday night.
It was the first time the Chelsea loanee has been included in Inter Milan's matchday squad since picking up a muscle injury, having missed games against Bologna, Hellas Verona and Bologna.
Against SPAL, Conte picked Antonio Candreva as the starting right wing-back and the experienced Italy international, scorer of Inter's opening goal, was replaced by Lorenzo Pirola in the 80th minute.
Speaking to Inter TV after the game, Conte explained why Moses was not involved as he provided a fitness update.
"I hope we can have Nicolo Barella back ahead of the next game," said Conte.
"We also hope Romelu Lukaku will be available. Sensi is gradually getting closer to recovering.
"I didn't want to risk Moses tonight, but he is fit. There are so many positives."
