Solskjaer Reveals Two January Signings Including Ighalo Have Been Key For Manchester United
Published: July 21, 2020Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer attended the mandatory pre-match press conference on Tuesday morning and one of the subjects he touched on was the improvement of the team since the start of the second half of the season.
The Red Devils bolstered their squad with the signings of Odion Ighalo and Bruno Fernandes from Shanghai Shenhua and Sporting CP respectively in the January transfer window and the two players have been key, helping the club close the game on the top four.
Manchester United went on a nineteen-game unbeaten run until it was stopped by Chelsea in the semifinal of the FA Cup last weekend, and Ighalo was arguably the standout player in the cup competitions while the Portuguese sensation was their top player in the Premier League during that successful spell.
"I think we’ve grown over the whole season," Solskjaer told reporters, according to Man Utd's official webpage.
"The additions of Odion, Bruno and Paul coming back, [plus] Marcus coming back is a strength for us. We are better as a group and more robust and resilient."
"The proof is in the pudding and we’ll have to see on Wednesday how they perform."

Ighalo, 31, will be hoping to make his full Premier League debut in tomorrow's meeting against West Ham after making nine appearances off the bench.
