FK Sarajevo In Pole Position To Sign Ex-West Ham Winger Once Touted As World's Fastest Player
Published: July 23, 2020
Allnigeriasoccer.com can exclusively report that ex-West Ham winger Matthias Fanimo will end his association with Bosnian Premier League club Mladost Doboj Kakanj in the coming days.
It is confirmed that Mladost Doboj Kakanj have received at least four bids from clubs interested in signing the Anglo-Nigerian star.
FK Sarajevo have put in a bid for Fanimo along with TSV Hartberg (Austria), Japoel Kfar Saba (Israel) and MTK Budapest (Hungary).
It is understood that the team from Bosnia and Herzegovina are presently in pole position for his signature and a decision on his next career move will be made by the player and his advisers in the coming hours.
Whilst at West Ham Academy, Fanimo was touted to be the fastest player in the world, with a reading of 9.8 on the GPS monitor, same speed recorded by former Manchester United skipper Antonio Valencia.
FK Sarajevo are an attractive proposition for the 26-year-old as they have offered him the chance to play in the UEFA Champions League next season by virtue of finishing first in the Premier League.
A former England U16 skipper, Fanimo scored 5 goals in 17 matches in the curtailed season and had five assists to his name.
