Crotone's Super Eagles Striker Sets New Personal Record For Goals In A Single Season
Nigeria international Simeon Tochukwu Nwankwo set a new personal record for goals scored in a single season on Friday evening, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.

Simy bagged a brace - the fifth time he has scored two goals or more this term - to help Crotone register an impressive 5-1 road win against Livorno at the Stadio Armando Picchi, taking his tally for the season to 21 goals in all competitions.

In doing so, he surpassed his previous personal best  - the 20 he scored during the 2015-2016 season while wearing the colours of Gil Vicente in Portugal.

Simy has been in imperious goalscoring form since the season restarted, with 7 goals in his last eight matches.

Having set a new personal record, a milestone for him to target before the end of the 2019-2020 campaign is reaching 100 career goals in European football, something that is within reach as he is currently on 96 with two games to the end of the regular season.

Against Livorno today, Simy found the back of the net in the 35th minute before wrapping up the scoring just before the hour mark.
