Racing Genk's Dessers Still In His Element : Super Eagles Hopeful Scores For Third Game Running
Super Eagles hopeful Cyriel Dessers continued his brilliant form in pre-season by finding the net as Racing Genk registered a 1-0 win against AZ Alkmaar in a friendly staged at the AFAS Stadium in the Netherlands on Saturday, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.

The summer signing from Heracles Almelo scored the game-winning goal when he converted a penalty kick, awarded after Jere Uronen was fouled in the area in the 19th minute.

Dessers was the only Nigerian player that featured in the first half against AZ; Paul Onuachu, Stephen Odey and Shawn Adewoye later played the entirety of the season half.

After failing to find the back of his net on his debut against Union Saint-Gilloise, the Belgium-Nigerian striker has showed that he has settled quickly into life at Racing Genk by scoring in each of his last three games - against Excelsior Rotterdam, FC Utrecht and AZ.

Dessers finished the 2019-2020 campaign as the joint top scorer in the Dutch Eredivisie with 15 goals from 26 matches.

The 25-year-old and his teammates will face Lens in a double exhibition match next Saturday, before their first competitive game of the new season against KV Oostende the following weekend.
