Aston Villa Among Five Premier League Teams In Sweepstakes For QPR POTY Eze
Published: July 28, 2020
According to a report in the Guardian UK, at least five English Premier League clubs, including Aston Villa, are battling to sign Queens Park Rangers Player of the Year for the 2019-2020 season, Eberechi Eze this summer.
Villa, who maintained their top-flight status on the final day of the campaign, face competition from Crystal Palace, West Ham, Newcastle United and newly promoted West Brom for the signature of the talented playmaker.
The Premier League is the most logical destination for the London-born Eze following a breakout season that saw him net fourteen goals and produce eight assists in the Championship.
To sign the England U21 international, the aforementioned clubs have to meet Queens Park Rangers asking price of 20 million pounds for the attacking midfielder.
Eze is under contract with QPR through the 2020-2021 season but the London club have an option to extend his stay for another season.
The 22-year-old joined the Hoops in 2016 after stops with the youth teams of Arsenal, Fulham and Millwall.
He started every single game played by Queens Park Rangers in the Championship in the 2019-20 campaign.
