Crotone Reject Offer From Udinese For Italian Serie B Top Marksman Simy
Published: July 29, 2020
According to Italian sports daily La Gazzetta dello Sport via Tuttomercatoweb, newly-promoted Serie A side Crotone have rejected an initial offer from Udinese for the leading scorer in the second-tier Simeon Tochukwu Nwankwo.
With Crotone earning a direct promotion ticket, their plan is to retain the services of the Nigeria international.
Crotone president Gianni Vrenna has promised the fans that Simy will remain at the club for the 2020-2021 campaign.
The Super Eagle is having his most successful season as a professional in terms of goalscoring and broke his personal record for goals scored in a single season when he bagged a brace vs AS Livorno in the penultimate round of matches.
Lazio have also been credited with an interest in Simy who moved to Italy from Gil Vicente in Portugal four years ago.
The 28-year-old inked a new deal with the Rossoblù in May 2019, keeping him at the club until at least June 2022.
