Four Goals In One Game : Kyoto Sanga's Utaka Still Terrorising Defences At The Age Of 36
Published: August 08, 2020One-time Nigeria international Peter Utaka is not slowing down when it comes to goalscoring despite his age, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.
In a seven-goal thriller against Montedio Yamagata, the 36-year-old netted four of Kyoto Sanga's goals to help them register an impressive 4-3 road win at the ND Soft Stadium in Tendō on Saturday.
Utaka netted a brace in each half - 31st and 37th minute before his 53rd and 87th minute efforts.
Having scored nine goals from his first ten appearances for Kyoto Sanga, the experienced striker is now topping the goalscoring charts by a wide margin with three goals separating him from Ishikawa FC Zweigen Kanazawa's Brazilian striker Lucao.
Utaka has carved out a reputation as a prolific scorer for his foreign clubs, winning the top scorer awards in the league during his time with Royal Antwerp, Odense Boldklub and Sanfrecce Hiroshima in 2008, 2010 and 2016 respectively.
The fox in the box joined Kyoto Sanga in the January transfer window.
