Nigeria U23 Defender Tipped For Return To Galatasaray After Unsuccessful Loan Spell
Published: August 11, 2020Nigeria U23 international Valentine Ozornwafor faces an uncertain future a year after he joined Turkish Super Lig giants Galatasaray.
According to Turkish sports daily Fanatik, the central defender is returning to Galatasaray to participate in pre-season training and manager Fatih Terim will make the final decision about the young player.
Ozornwafor was purchased from Enyimba last summer for a fee of 300,000 euros, before joining Spanish Segunda Division outfit UD Almeria on a season-long loan in exchange for 200,000 euros.
The report has suggested that the Andalusian club are not willing to activate the option to buy him permanently at the end of the 2019-2020 season which is not surprising as he has struggled for playing time since his arrival in August 2019.
Ozornwafor has made only three appearances for Almeria, the last of which came against Extremadura on January 19.
Last week, he was spotted training with Almeria first team ahead of their playoff match against Girona on Thursday, August 13.
