Super Eagles Star Omeruo Cleared To Resume Training With CD Leganes
Published: August 12, 2020
Nigeria international Kenneth Omeruo has been given the medical all-clear by CD Leganes doctors to resume training with the demoted La Liga club ahead of the upcoming season, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.
The central defender passed the COVID-19 PCR and serological tests conducted on Tuesday, August 11.
The Super Eagle and his teammates at Leganes will hold their first pre-season workout at Instalación Deportiva Butarque on Thursday, starting from 0900 hours.
The future of Omeruo at Leganes has been the subject of speculation in recent weeks as he continues to be linked with a departure from Los Pepineros after they lost their top-flight status on the final day of last season.
Turkish and Spanish clubs are monitoring his situation with a view to a swoop before the close of the summer transfer window.
Omeruo has 51 career appearances to his name in La Liga and logged 4,312 minutes, scoring one goal.
His contract with Leganes expires at the end of the 2023-2024 season.
