Racing Genk's Dessers, Club Brugge's Dennis Suffer Training Ground Injuries
Published: August 13, 2020
Philippe Clement, manager of Club Brugge, is sweating over the fitness of Emmanuel Dennis before his side's next Belgian First Division A clash against AS Eupen at the Stadion am Kehrweg on Sunday afternoon.
The Nigeria international suffered an injury during training on Thursday after receiving a kick on the ankle and could not complete the session.
Tomorrow, Friday, Club Brugge will discover the severity of his ailment, manager Clement disclosed at the press conference today.
Despite speculation linking Dennis with a departure from Club Brugge, he was named in the starting lineup on the opening day of the season as they were beaten 1-0 at home by RSC Charleroi.
Meanwhile, according to various reports in the Belgian media including regional newspaper Het Belang van Limburg, Super Eagles hopeful Cyriel Dessers picked up a training ground injury on Wednesday evening after landing on his head.
The summer signing from Heracles Almelo was sent home by Racing Genk medics on Thursday morning.
Dessers netted the game-winning goal from the spot on his competitive debut against SV Zulte Waregem last weekend.
