Chelsea Loanee Moses Subbed In As Inter Thrash Shakhtar Donetsk To Earn UEL Final Place
Published: August 17, 2020
Former Nigeria international Victor Moses made a late cameo as Internazionale smashed five past a hapless Shakhtar Donetsk in their Europa League semi-final meeting on Monday evening, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.
The Chelsea loanee was afforded his fourth appearance of the season in the competition at the Merkur-Spiel Arena when he came on to replace Danilo D'Ambrosio with 81 minutes on the clock.
Inter were home and dry then, with Lautaro Martinez having already struck twice either side of a D'Ambrosio effort before Romelu Lukaku joined in on the act with a goal of his own.
Shortly after his introduction, there was still time for Stefan De Vrij to set up the big Belgian for his brace, and thus complete a complete demolition job as The Nerazzurri zoomed into Friday's showpiece.
Moses will thus set his sights on replicating winning the competition, having won it with Chelsea in his debut season with the club and played two games for the current winners before heading to Fenerbahce on loan in January 2019.
They face Sevilla who beat Odion Ighalo's Manchester United yesterday in the final.
