Official : German Club St. Pauli Have A New No. 14 In Aremu Who Joins From IK Start
Published: August 24, 2020German 2. Bundesliga club St. Pauli have completed the signing of former Flying Eagles holding midfielder Afeez Aremu.
Aremu ended his association with Norwegian top-flight club IK Start after putting pen to paper on a contract with St. Pauli that will run until the end of the 2022-2023 season.
The brand new St. Pauli signing has been allocated the number 14 jersey for the upcoming season.
Speaking to the official website, Aremu stated : "I'm glad to be here at last. When I got the offer from St. Pauli, I didn't need much time to think.
"It's a big club and for me the next important step in my development. I can't wait to get to know my teammates."
Head coach Timo Schultz added: "In Afeez we're getting a component our squad had been lacking. He's the dynamic 'enforcer' type of player I was after.
"He's already completed several seasons at a high level and at his age has potential to develop at the same time."
In 63 competitive appearances for IK Start across two and a half seasons, Aremu scored five goals and provided an assist.
