West Ham's Nigeria Youth-Teamer Jinadu Celebrates Clean Sheet In 5-0 Rout Of QPR XI
Published: September 03, 2020
Nigeria youth international Daniel Jinadu has taken to social media to celebrate keeping a clean sheet for West Ham U23s in their 5-0 hammering of a Queens Park Rangers XI in a pre-season friendly on Tuesday afternoon.
Jinadu has seen his stock rise after representing the Golden Eaglets at the 2019 FIFA U17 World Cup, so much so that he was named the club's Scholar of the Year after making only four appearances in the U18 Premier League in the curtailed academy season.
Making his first start of the pre-season, the former Chelsea glovesman was impressive in between the pipes before making way for Roach in the 78th minute.
Nigeria-eligible duo Mipo Odubeko (2) and Olatunji Akinola scored three of West Ham's five goals in the comprehensive win over Queens Park Rangers.
Writing on Instagram, Jinadu said : "Good to get some minutes in the tank, always nice to keep a clean sheet! #APG #newbalancefootball".
The 18-year-old Jinadu, who was born in Nigeria, signed his first professional contract with the Hammers in the summer of 2020.
