Tottenham Hotspur Hand Trial To Nigerian Defender Formerly With London Rivals Arsenal
Tottenham Hotspur have handed a trial to promising Nigerian defender Tobi Omole ahead of a potential transfer in the summer transfer window, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.

Omole was surprisingly not offered a new contract by Spurs' north London rivals, Arsenal at the end of the 2019-2020 season.

The center back returned to Arsenal's London Colney training ground on Saturday afternoon but this time in the colours of Tottenham Hotspur as the visitors defeated the Gunners 1-0 in the Premier League 2 to strengthen their title aspirations.

Tottenham Hotspur U23 coach Wayne Burnett ran the rule over Omole after he came off the bench to replace Lusala midway through the second half.

He was identified as a player that offers versatility whilst at Arsenal, playing in a number of positions including center back, left-back and defensive midfield.

Prior to Omole's release by Arsenal, he spent six years at the club, rising through the ranks before making his debut in the U18 Premier League in August 2016 at the age of sixteen.

Apart from Omole, nine other players of Nigerian descent were involved in the north London derby, with Tolaji Bola, Daniel Oyegoke, Tim Akinola, Miguel Azeez, James Olayinka, Folarin Balogun and Ryan Alebiosu involved  for Arsenal, while Kion Etete and Jubril Okedina were on show for Tottenham Hotspur.
