Netherlands youth international of Nigerian descent Dillon Hoogewerf has taken to social media to celebrate his 'hat-trick of assists' in Manchester United's 5-1 rout of Burnley in the U18 Premier League on Saturday, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.
The diminutive striker, who was signed from Dutch giants Ajax Amsterdam in the summer of 2019, impressed in his first competitive start of the season for the Red Devils and was credited with two assists.
Hoogewerf provided a pinpoint pass for Omari Forson to open the scoring after eight minutes at the Aon Training Complex.
In the 89th minute, Mejia made it 4-1 with a prodded finish after he was set up by the Dutch-Nigerian attacker, before Emeran wrapped up the scoring with a brilliant free-kick, awarded after Hoogewerf was fouled as he was bearing in on goal in stoppage time.
Writing on Instagram, Hoogewerf said : "Happy with the result today and with 3 assists. Well done boys❤️".
Hoogewerf has added assists to his game in the new season as he also set up a goal in United's 2-1 win vs Blackburn Rovers on September 19 after coming off the bench.
