Promising Chelsea midfielder Faustino Anjorin will not make his season debut for Chelsea's first team when they take on Southampton in the Premier League this afternoon, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.
The England youth international has been included in the matchday squad for Chelsea's Premier League 2 fixture against Derby County at Cobham Training Center, effectively ruling him out of the visit of the Saints.
Anjorin and another player of Nigerian descent in Bryan Fiabema will start on the bench for Chelsea U23s.
Having recovered from injury, the 18-year-old was spotted training with Chelsea's first teamers earlier this week.
Blessed with natural strength, Anjorin has shown he's ready for men's football but turned down the opportunity to be loaned out before the summer transfer window closed on Friday.
He appeared in two matches for the first team of the Blues last term, against Grimsby Town in the EFL Trophy and Everton in the Premier League, and was a non-playing substitute vs Liverpool in the FA Cup.
Meanwhile, former Manchester United starlet Ola Ibrahim, Festy Ebosele and Josh Shonibare start from the off for Derby County U23s.
