Retired Nigeria international Nwankwo Kanu has sent a birthday message to highly-respected French coach Arsene Wenger, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.
Wenger, who managed Arsenal for nearly 22 years, is celebrating his 71st birthday today, October 22.
The Frenchman strengthened his attacking options in January 1999 by signing Kanu from Inter Milan for a fee in the region of 4.2 million pounds.
The pair went on to win two Premier League titles, two FA Cups and the FA Charity Shield before the Nigerian departed the north London club in the summer of 2004.
With Wenger in the dugout, the former Arsenal number 25 played 197 matches in all competitions, scoring 44 goals and notched 28 assists.
Kanu shared a photograph of Wenger with his 333.1 thousand followers on Twitter and he stated : "Happy birthday Birthday cake Arsene and many more years. @arsenal #arsenewenger #coyg #fifa #premierleague #afc".
Kanu went on to play for West Bromwich Albion and Portsmouth before hanging up his boots.
