Red-hot Striker Fiabema Scores On Full Debut For Chelsea U23 In Loss To Liverpool
Published: October 24, 2020
Red-hot Chelsea striker Bryan Fiabema scored for the third game running but could not prevent his side from a 3-1 defeat to Liverpool in their PL2 meeting at Liverpool's Academy Ground on Saturday afternoon, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.
The precocious striker was part of a strong Chelsea XI which started in Merseyside, a side which included two first-team players in the shape of Baba Rahman and Danny Drinkwater, including compatriot Faustino Anjorin.
Last weekend, the Norway youth international scored twice as his side came from behind to claim maximum points against Derby County and he was on hand to pull a goal back from the spot here.
His penalty effort nine minutes from time however, only offered his side a glimmer of hope.
While Anjorin came off for Ben Elliot in the 78th minute, Fiabema put in a ninety-minute shift on his full debut for Chelsea's development squad.
Chelsea remain top of the Premier League 2 Division One table with 12 points and are back in action when they face Everton at the Haig Avenue on November 8th.
