Nwakaeme Involved In Three Goals As Trabzonspor Lose Seven-Goal Thriller
Published: October 30, 2020
Anthony Nwakaeme was involved in three goals but it counted for nothing as Trabzonspor were beaten 4-3 by Kasimpasa in a Turkish Super Lig clash at the Medical Park Stadyumu (Trabzon) on Friday evening, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.
The home team found themselves a goal down inside eight minutes with Mickael Tirpan opening the scoring for Kasimpasa, only for Trabzonspor to stage a revival before the end of the first half.
Serkan Asan equalised for Trabzonspor on 23 minutes assisted by Nwakaeme and the former Super Eagles invitee turned from provider to scorer when he made it 2-1 in the 31st minute and grabbed his second of the game seven minutes later.
Yusuf Erdogan and Edgar Ie (own goal) got on the scoresheet to make it 3-3 before a late goal from Bengali-Fode Koita secured the three points for Kasimpasa.
Nwakaeme was cautioned in the closing minutes, his first booking of the new season.
The 31-year-old has been involved in an impressive 51 goals (28 goals, 23 assists) in 80 matches for Trabzonspor since he joined the club from Hapoel Beer Sheva in the summer of 2018.
Trabzonspor have started the season badly, losing four of their first seven games and occupy 18th position in the provisional standings.
