Nigerian Prospect To Sign New Deal With Premier League Giants Chelsea This Week
Published: November 03, 2020
Allnigeriasoccer.com can exclusively report that former Golden Eaglets invitee Prince Adegoke has agreed a new contract with Chelsea, few months after signing scholarship forms with the English Premier League giants.
The highly-rated glovesman is celebrating his seventeenth birthday today, Tuesday, November 3, which is the date The Blues can activate the clause in the contract he agreed with the club earlier this year.
The signing ceremony was supposed to take place today but it has been shifted by two days to Thursday afternoon because Chelsea have more pressing issues now - their Champions League meeting with Rennes tomorrow.
Adegoke will initially put pen to paper on a two-year, eight-month professional contract that will keep him at Chelsea until the end of the 2022-2023 season.
The agreement between club and player could be upgraded in July 2021 based on his performances.
Adegoke was in contention to be Chelsea U18s first choice goalkeeper only for him to suffer a meniscus injury during the warmup of a pre-season friendly against Crystal Palace in September.
He joined Chelsea at U13 level from non-league club Langley FC.
