Man City's Nmecha Reacts After Marking Champions League Debut With Assist
Published: November 04, 2020
Manchester City are one point away from reaching the knockout rounds of the UEFA Champions League following a 3-0 rout of Olympiakos at the Etihad Stadium on Tuesday night.
The Premier League side powered past their Greek opponents thanks to goals from Ferran Torres, Gabriel Jesus and Joao Cancelo.
Manager Pep Guardiola handed a Champions League debut to German-born attacking midfielder of Nigerian descent Felix Nmecha, bringing him on with five minutes left as a replacement for Kevin De Bruyne.
Nmecha has taken to social media to celebrate marking his Champions League debut with an assist for City's third goal.
The 20-year-old posted on Instagram : "Amazing feeling to make my Champions league debut 🙏🏽🙌🏽❤️I thank God and give Him all the glory, also nice to get an assist. #InGodItrust".
Nmecha's first appearance for Manchester City's first team was against Burton Albion in the semifinals of the League Cup in January 2019.
He has captained Manchester City in the UEFA Youth League and Premier League 2.
