Iheanacho Battles Vardy, Barnes, 4 Others For Leicester City Goal Of The Month Prize
Published: November 04, 2020
Kelechi Iheanacho was the headliner in Leicester City's UEFA Europa League opener against Zorya Lugansk, scoring a goal and setting up two others in a 3-0 win.
In doing so, the former Manchester City whizkid became the first Nigerian-born player to provide two assists in a single Europa League match.
Iheanacho's 67th minute strike which wrapped up the scoring has been nominated for Leicester City's Goal of the Month prize for October 2020, the Premier League side officially informed on Wednesday.
The Super Eagle turned and shot low from 15 meters to put Leicester 3-0 ahead following a defensive error from Ivanisenia.
Joining Iheanacho on the seven-goal shortlist are efforts from Leicester City first teamers Harvey Barnes, Jamie Vardy and Hamza Choudhury, and development squad player Thanawat Suengchittawon, and LCFC Women stars Paige Bailey-Gayle and Natasha Flint.
The 2013 U17 World Cup winner is in the frame to make his eleventh appearance in European competitions in tomorrow's matchday three clash vs Sporting Braga in the Europa League.
