Bordeaux Winger Samuel Kalu In Line To Make Return From Injury Against Rennes
Published: November 19, 2020
Samuel Kalu is in line to make his return from injury when Bordeaux tackle Rennes in the French Ligue 1 on Friday evening, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.
Bordeaux manager Jean-Louis Gasset has named a 22-man provisional squad for the visit to Brittany and his number 10, Kalu is part of the group.
With a maximum of twenty players permitted to be included on the team sheet, at least two players have to be axed from the provisional squad few hours before the start of the game at Roazhon Park.
Kalu and fellow Nigeria national teamer Samuel Kalu are among eight players classed as strikers named in the traveling squad.
The 23-year-old has not figured for Bordeaux since suffering a tear in the hamstrings of the left thigh during the friendly against Algeria in Austria on October 9.
Prior to his spell on the sidelines, he managed to force his way back into Bordeaux's
starting XI, making three starts in his last four appearances.
Without Kalu in the squad, Bordeaux lost against Marseille, Monaco and Montpellier and won once at home to Nîmes Olympique.
