Nigeria-Eligible Teenager Scores First Senior Goal For Arsenal In 3-0 Rout Of Molde
American-born striker of Nigerian descent Folarin Balogun scored his first senior goal for Arsenal as they registered a 3-0 victory over 2019 Norwegian champions Molde at the Aker Stadium on Thursday evening, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.

The England U20 international was one of four players of Nigerian descent named in their respective teams matchday squad, the others being Miguel Azeez and Molde duo Ohi Omoijuanfo and Leke James.

Nicolas Pepe with a curler opened the scoring five minutes into the second half before Reiss Nelson made it 2-0 with a close range effort in the 55th minute.

Almost a minute after he came on, the 19-year-old Balogun, who was making his second appearance off the bench for Arsenal's first team, made sure the three points were in the bag when he grabbed the visitors' third goal of the evening.

With his second touch, the Anglo-Nigerian striker fired past goalkeeper Andreas Linde from inside the box in the 83rd minute, assisted by fellow substitute Emile Smith-Rowe.

While Miguel Azeez remained rooted to the bench for the entirety of the game, Omoijuanfo was introduced as a replacement for Leke James on the hour mark.

Arsenal who have a one hundred percent record in the group stage of the Europa League after four rounds have progressed to the knockout stages with two games to spare.
