Published: December 07, 2020
By scoring a brace in a 4-2 win against Royal Antwerp in a Belgian First Division A clash on Sunday afternoon, Paul Onuachu matched a scoring feat achieved by Racing Genk old boy Jelle Vossen.
The Nigeria national teamer has tallied 14 goals after fifteen rounds in the Belgian top-flight, making him the leading scorer in the division at this stage of the season in the last ten years, an honour he shares with Vossen who is now on the books of SV Zulte Waregem.
While Vossen tallied 14 goals in his first eleven matches of the 2010-11 campaign before firing blanks in his next four games, all of which he started , Onuachu was named in the starting lineup on twelve occasions, came off the bench twice and didn't figure against Club Brugge.
The Racing Genk number 18 has been more prolific at home with 64.29 percent of his goals coming at the Luminus Arena.
Onuachu has scored against against ten different teams namely Zulte Waregem, Beerschot V.A, KV Mechelen, KV Oostende, Waasl.-Beveren, RSC Charleroi, KAS Eupen, Mouscron, Cercle Brugge and Antwerp.
In third place is Royal Antwerp's DR Congo striker Dieumerci Mbokani who netted 13 goals after 15 rounds during the 2019-2020 season.
