West Brom Mulling Over Move For Most Expensive Player In Saudi History Ahmed Musa; Allardyce A Big Fan
Published: December 22, 2020
Allnigeriasoccer.com can exclusively report that English Premier League side West Brom have reignited their interest in Super Eagles captain Ahmed Musa, less than two weeks before the January transfer window opens for business.
The Baggies were on the cusp of signing the former Leicester City man in the summer transfer market, only for the deal to fall through at the last minute.
Musa had agreed personal terms to join West Brom on a season-long loan deal but Al-Nassr were reluctant to approve the transfer, before he mutually terminated his contract with the Saudi Pro League side in October.
New Baggies boss Sam Allardyce is a huge admirer of the Nigeria captain and tried to sign Musa while he was managing West Ham, so a deal to bring him to the Hawthorns may be in the offing next month.
To this day, the Golden Boot Soccer Academy product is the most expensive signing in the history of the Saudi Pro League after joining Al-Nassr in exchange for 16.5 million euros.
The 28-year-old has set his sights on a return to the Premier League and it has nothing to do with money considering the fact that he gave up the crazy wages he was earning in Saudi Arabia just for him to actualize his dream of returning to Europe.
Indeed, Chinese Super League and Saudi clubs have been throwing money at him in order to convince him to return but his first choice is to play for an English club.
Apart from West Brom, Musa is also attracting huge interest from CSKA Moscow and the big three clubs in the Turkish Super Lig.
On his curriculum vitae, the winger has represented Nigeria at two World Cups, won the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations, three Russian Premier League titles and Saudi Pro League.
