Reading boss Veljko Paunovic has opened up on the future of Nigeria-eligible winger Michael Olise who is being linked with a switch to the Premier League in the January transfer window.
The 19-year-old is enjoying a breakthrough season, scoring 4 goals and setting up seven others in 21 appearances in the Championship.
Liverpool, Chelsea, Crystal Palace, Leeds United, Leicester City and Arsenal are among the Premier League clubs credited with an interest in the France U18 international.
It was reported that Olise had a release clause of eight million pounds but Paunovic claimed that he knew nothing about it.
In quotes carried by The Reading Chronicle, the Serbian football tactician said : "No, I'm not aware of it.
"The most important thing for Michael is that he has found a place where he is being protected, supported, playing games more than ever and is being given opportunities.
"I am confident (the pair Olise and Richards will stay past the January window).
"But, I'm also confident to tell you that you never know.
"Every single player is exposed to the market and to the teams that have needs so somebody may pull the trigger.
"Are we going to be affected by that? It is possible, but I am confident and I am working with him on a long-term [basis]. "
Reading are keen to tie down Olise's services with his current contract expiring at the end of the 2021-2022 season.
