Racing Genk striker Paul Onuachu finished the 2020 calendar year as the joint-top scoring Nigerian player in the world, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.
The FC Ebedei product tallied 17 goals in the Belgian First Division A, same as little-known FC Prishtina center forward Otto John.
John registered his name on the scoresheet 10 times in 15 appearances in the Kosovo top-flight in the second half of the 2019-2020 campaign, starting from February, and has continued his brilliant form this term with seven goals from 14 games.
The leading scorer in Belgium, Onuachu netted 15 goals in the current season and his other two goals came against Royal Antwerp and KV Oostende before the league was halted in March 2020 as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.
Tolu Arokodare earned himself a move to Cologne in the summer transfer window, thanks to his 15 goals for Valmiera FC in the Latvian Virsliga, and he's in third place along with KF Laci number 9, Kyrian Nwabueze.
Completing the top five Nigerian goalscorers in the world for 2020 is Moses Ogbu who bagged 14 goals in 25 Allsvenskan appearances for Mjällby.
