Ajax Amsterdam's 17-Year-Old Nigeria-Eligible Midfielder Makes Professional Debut Vs TOP Oss
Published: January 06, 2021
Ajax Amsterdam's Nigeria-eligible central midfielder Gibson Yah has made his professional debut aged 17 years and 100 days and it came in a Keuken Kampioen Divisie clash against TOP Oss on Tuesday night, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.
Yah was a non-playing substitute as Jong Ajax suffered a 2- home loss to Telstar in their last game of 2020.
On a personal level, his finest moment in an Ajax Shirt came in the 81st minute when he hopped off the bench to replace Kian Fitz-Jim in a tactical substitution during yesterday's game.
Yah stepped out onto the Frans Heesen Stadion turf with the number 18 at the back of his jersey.
Jan Lammers scored what proved to be the winning goal in the ninth minute of the contest.
Yah will be hoping to be involved when Jong Ajax hunt for their first points of the second half of the season in Saturday's clash with Helmond Sport at the Sportpark De Toekomst (Amsterdam-Duivendrecht).
He joined Ajax Amsterdam from DVC Buiksloot in the summer of 2014.
