Napoli Striker Osimhen Is Most Valuable Nigerian Player In Europe At N35.1 Billion
Published: January 06, 2021Napoli striker Victor Osimhen has been ranked as the most valuable Nigerian player in Europe's top five leagues composed of La Liga, English Premier League, German Bundesliga, Italian Serie A and French Ligue 1, accoridng to a recent study by CIES Football Observatory.
According to their algorithm, which takes myriad factors into consideration including age, contract duration, performances and inflation amongst other things, the Super Eagles star is valued at 62.2 million euros (approximately N35.1 billion in Nigerian currency).
His valuation is 7.8 million euros less than the transfer fee Napoli paid Lille for his signature last summer.
The 22-year-old, who is under contract with Napoli until June 2025, is the 11th most valuable player in the Serie A.
He is the third most expensive Napoli player behind Fabian Ruiz (€72.6m) and Piotr Zielinski (€67.9m), and is the 36th most valuable player classed as a striker in the world.
Super Eagles midfielder Wilfred Ndidi understandably didn't appear on the list of most valuable players as he hasn't played much in the current season due to an adductor issue that kept him on the sidelines for around eleven weeks.
