'He Took To It Very Well' - Ex-Chelsea Captain Cahill Reveals One Key Attribute Of Victor Moses
Published: January 12, 2021Victor Moses endeared himself to former Chelsea captain Gary Cahill during Antonio Conte's spell in charge of the London club.
The Italian manager employed a new defensive formation in Chelsea's last title-winning season, with the former Nigeria international converted to a right wing-back and brought into the starting lineup.
Cahill was impressed with Moses' transition from an attack-minded player to a wing-back, and highlighted that his key attribute was launching attacks from his fullback position.
"It was just a befitting role for him; it fit his game perfectly. He was a very fit lad and had the stamina to get up and down," Cahill told Palace's Matchday Programme.
"I was on the left-hand side of the three, and he would’ve had Azpi [César Azpilicueta] behind him – a great player to have behind you, dictating to you.
"His game didn’t change much really. Defensively he could do a job but his attribute was carrying the ball forward.

Moses fell out of favour after Conte was shown the exit door before the start of the 2018-2019 season and has been farmed out on loan to three different clubs Fenerbahce, Inter Milan and Spartak Moscow.
