Galatasaray On Brink Of Signing Onyekuru On Loan With Option To Buy
Published: January 23, 2021
Galatasaray are on the verge of completing the signing of Nigeria national teamer Henry Onyekuru.
According to Italian transfer market guru Fabrizio Romano (via Manu Lonjon), Galatasaray are set to sign Onyekuru from Monaco on loan with buy option and the deal is expected to be completed today.
Monaco have already signed a replacement for the Super Eagle, bringing in Senegalese winger Krepin Diatta from Club Brugge.
Onyekuru has seen his first team opportunities limited at Monaco, making only eight appearances in seventeen months - the last of which came against Stade Rennais in September.
Due to his lack of game time at club level, he has not figured for the Super Eagles since playing the last twelve minutes of a 2-1 loss to Algeria in the semifinal of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations.
Onyekuru has already had two loan spells at Galatasaray, helping them win the Super Lig and Cup in his first full season with the Istanbul giants.
He joins Oghenekaro Etebo, Valentine Ozornwafor and Jesse Sekidika at the Yellow-Reds.
