Official : ADO Den Haag Loan In Former Liverpool Winger Adekanye
Published: January 28, 2021
Through their official website, Dutch Eredivisie club ADO Den Haag have announced the signing of Nigerian-born winger Bobby Adekanye.
The Lazio-owned player will be spending the remainder of the 2020-2021 season on loan at ADO Den Haag, although there is a possibility that his stay would be extended if he does well.
Adekanye spent the first half of the season on loan at Spanish side Cadiz, for whom he made five appearances including three in La Liga.
The 21-year-old turned out for the youth teams of VV Alphia, Ajax Amsterdam, Barcelona and PSV Eindhoven, before switching to Liverpool, where he spent four years prior to his move to Lazio in 2019.
In his first words after putting pen to paper, Adekanye said : "It is an honor to play for this beautiful club. In recent years I have gained a lot of experience abroad - both within and outside the lines - and it is great that I can now present myself to the Dutch public.
"I am an attacker with courage and speed, who likes to pass a man and be productive.
"I hope I can make a lot of minutes and help the team to grab points and stay in the Eredivisie. I have every confidence that this will work out."
Adekanye trained with his new teammates at ADO Den Haag on Thursday ahead of their upcoming game against Maduka Okoye's Sparta Rotterdam.
