AD Alcorcon Join Race For Ex-Arsenal Midfielder Kelechi Nwakali
Published: January 30, 2021
Spanish Segunda Division side AD Alcorcón are the latest club linked with a move for Nigeria U23 international Kelechi Nwakali in the January transfer window.
According to Spanish sports daily Marca, Alcorcón are in the market for a box-to-box midfielder two days before the close of the transfer window and the coaches have Nwakali on top of their wishlist.
The former Arsenal starlet does not appear to be in the plans of SD Huesca manager Pacheta for the second half of the season and the La Liga outfit are looking at the possibility of loaning him out to another team where he can play on a regular basis.
Logroñés and an unnamed Belgian First Division A club are also pushing to sign the 2015 U17 World Cup-winning captain.
Of his seven appearances for Huesca this season, Nwakali has started just once - against Real Madrid at the end of October.
The 22-year-old is contracted to Huesca until the end of the 2021-2022 season.
