'Hudson-Odoi Playing As Victor Moses' - Chelsea Fans React To Tuchel's Decision Vs Burnley
Published: January 31, 2021
German football tactician Thomas Tuchel has decided to stick to his decision to deploy Callum Hudson-Odoi in an unfamiliar position of right wing-back in his second game as coach, against Burnley at Stamford Bridge on Sunday afternoon.
The former Borussia Dortmund and PSG manager is borrowing a page from Antonio Conte, who converted Victor Moses to a wing-back in Chelsea's last title-wining season.
Blessed with blistering pace, Hudson-Odoi stepped up in Tuchel's first match in charge against Wolverhampton Wanderers, impressing in a wing-back role and taking home the man of the match accolade.
Predominantly a right winger, Hudson-Odoi has a big job again today as he is tasked with defensive duties in his new position as a wing-back, just as Moses was asked to do by Conte during his two-season spell at Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea fans have been reacting to Tuchel's decision to play Hudson-Odoi in the 'Victor Moses role'.
Here's what they are saying on Twitter :
@ChuxEkere : "Hudson-Odoi is now playing the 'Victor Moses' role.Moses and Alonso that year... Flying wingbacks."
@alcuntra : "Hudson Odoi to Burnley’s defence from wing back like Victor Moses".
@HasnopmaiIn : "Chelsea lineup with Alonso now back in the team in his usual position as a wing back. So Hudson-Odoi was very good last time, and should watch the videos of what Moses was doing during the Conte time when Chelsea were devastating playing this formation."
@Manasokay : "Resting main brigade for Spurs I suppose. Good to see at least giving a chance to Alonso , Rudiger's career has been permanently revived that's for sure. Hudson Odoi will be the new Victor Moses."
@Jet286 : "Yes. Hudson Odoi’s has the work rate and awareness to track runners. Moses didn’t have the latter when he was first played at WB."
@DannyBGreen : "Zouma was class the first half of this season and now finds himself on the bench. Hudson-Odoi playing as Victor Moses. This club hates me and I hate it back".
@medoworof : "Wing back dier enoaaa ni Alonso, Hudson Odoi go turn Victor Moses"
