'I Prefer Big Defenders' - Racing Genk's Onuachu Reveals Ahead Of Showdown Vs Anderlecht
Published: February 06, 2021
With 22 goals in 24 league matches, Paul Onuachu is the favourite to win the top scorer award in this season's Belgian First Division.
The Racing Genk striker has admitted that he is relishing facing the Anderlecht defenders in Sunday's league match at the Luminus Arena, where he has a chance to prove his goalscoring pedigree against one of the top teams in Belgium.
Standing at 2.01 meters tall, Onuachu explained why he prefers individual duels with defenders of similar height.
"I prefer big defenders. The little ones have their arms at the level of my lower back. If they push me, I lose my balance much more easily," Onuachu said to La Dernière Heure, according to Foot News.
"Tall defenders, they play more with their bodies and push me higher. I can also use my body better in front of them."
Onuachu had a tough time against United States international Matt Miazga in the reverse fixture back in December, firing blanks in a 1-0 loss.
" On the first leg , I felt Matt Miazga confident and his team were playing well. So he started playing hard on me. And he's very good in the air, so that forced me to try other things.
"Against Bruges, for example, I felt that I was going to win at least seven duels out of ten."
