'Marvin Played Really Well' - Real Madrid's Vinicius Jr Impressed By Performance Of Versatile Winger
Brazil star Vinícius Júnior singled out Marvin Akinlabi for special praise following Real Madrid's 2-0 win over Getafe in a rescheduled La Liga match staged at the Estadio Alfredo Di Stéfano (Madrid) on Tuesday night.
Zinedine Zidane's new formation saw Akinlabi play in a right wing-back role and with defensive responsibilities; the Spanish-Nigerian youngster was one of the most impressive players on the pitch before coming off with injury in the 55th minute.
Making his full debut for Los Blancos, Akinlabi linked up well with his teammates and looked comfortable in his new role.
Reflecting on the match vs Getafe, Vinícius Júnior told Real Madrid's official website : "I’ve never played there, but when I pull on this shirt, I always want to do my bit to help us win games.
"We’ve got to keep calm and focused to carry out what the coach asks of us. We played really well and won the game, which is the most important thing.
"We’ve also got our academy, which is there to help us out. Marvin played really well right until the final whistle".
Akinlabi was born in Palma de Mallorca to a Nigerian father and South Korean mother twenty years ago.
