Manchester City released Shoretire after discovering he trained with Barcelona

According to the Daily Mail UK, Manchester City opted to release Anglo-Nigerian wonderkid Shola Shoretire after discovering he trained with Barcelona.
The Citizens' loss is Manchester United's gain as the promising winger is on the cusp of a first-team breakthrough for Manchester City's city rivals, having made his professional debut against Newcastle United last weekend.
Shoretire trained with Barcelona who tested him with the possibility of signing him, taking advantage of his family's stay in Barcelona for vacation and this angered the leadership of Manchester City.
United were aware of the potential of Shoretire and offered him a deal following his release by Manchester City.
Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich showed interest in signing the young talent before he inked his first professional contract with Manchester United this month.
Shoretire's good friend, Mipo Odubeko, who is now at West Ham United, was also on the books of Manchester City for few months before he was poached by Manchester United.
The Newcastle native has been named in Manchester United's gameday squad against Real Sociedad in the Europa League tonight, according to manager Ole Gunnar Solskjær.
