Former Man City schoolboy of Nigerian descent named in Man Utd provisional squad for derby
Former Manchester City schoolboy Shola Shoretire is in line to be named in the matchday squad in this evening's Manchester derby at the Etihad Stadium.

Manchester Evening News has published photos of the Manchester United players arriving at the Lowry Hotel ahead of the 185th Manchester derby and the 17-year-old Shoretire was spotted entering the hotel, along with Brazil midfielder Fred.

With twenty-one players included in the provisional squad, manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer must axe at least one player from the roster at least one hour before kickoff, meaning it's not a foregone conclusion that Shoretire will be involved in some capacity against the Citizens.

The Newcastle-born winger was on schoolboy terms at Manchester City until the age of ten when he was released by the Premier League giants after they discovered he trained with Barcelona while on a family vacation.

Solskjaer handed Shoretire his Premier League debut in the closing minutes of the 3-1 win against Newcastle United and he was a non-playing substitute versus Crystal Palace four days ago.

The Anglo-Nigerian wonderkid has been training with the first team of the Red Devils for the last one month and has not been involved in the last two games played by the U23s in the Premier League 2.
