Olaigbe's rocket against Manchester United shortlisted for Southampton Goal of the Month
Published: March 10, 2021
Kazeem Olaigbe's stunning goal against Manchester United in a Premier League 2 clash on February 27 has been shortlisted for Southampton's Goal of the Month award for February 2021, informs the official website of the Saints.
With the game scoreless, it took a moment of magic from the Belgian-Nigerian winger before the deadlock was broken.
Fifteen minutes from time, Olaigbe picked the ball up just outside the Manchester United penalty area, before
firing a superb effort into the top left corner to give Southampton B the lead.
Olaigbe's wonder goal has been nominated alongside efforts from arguably the top two stars in Southampton first team James Ward-Prowse and Danny Ings.
He will be hoping to follow in the footsteps of Nathan Tella who won Southampton's Goal of the Month prize for May 2017.
Olaigbe has contributed to ten goals (7 goals, 3 assists) in eighteen appearances for Southampton's youth teams so far this season.
