'It's key and pivotal' - Fulham coach hails defensive partnership between Tosin and Andersen
Published: March 11, 2021
Fulham's recent good run of form in the English Premier League can be put down to their solid defensive showings.
In their last seven outings in the top-flight, the Cottagers have conceded just twice while keeping a remarkable five clean sheets despite their position in the table.
Manager Scott Parker believes that Tosin Adarabioyo and Lyon loanee Joachim Andersen have been immense at the heart of defence.
Nigeria international Ola Aina has played at least ten games as a right-sided center back in a back three.
Speaking at Thursday's press conference before the visit of Manchester City, Parker was quoted as saying by Football. London : "They've been really solid. Great teams, you find the biggest pairing is the central defenders. It's key and pivotal.
"Joachim and Tosin have formed a very good partnership along with the whole defensive unit and a team. As a team we've defended much better.
"That's helped how solid we've been, it's in large part down to the partnership between them".
With Brighton & Hove not playing until Sunday, Fulham will move out of the bottom three if they keep another clean sheet against Manchester City at Craven Cottage.
