Reading's Ejaria to undergo late fitness test before Championship clash against Nottingham Forest
Published: March 12, 2021
Former Liverpool and Arsenal midfielder Ovie Ejaria will undergo a late fitness test ahead of Reading's Championship encounter against Nottingham Forest at the City Ground on Saturday.
The 2017 U20 World Cup winner was not available for selection when the Royals faced Sheffield Wednesday last weekend after straining his hamstring during the 1-0 victory over Blackburn Rovers ten days ago.
A scan showed that Ejaria suffered only a minor injury so he's not expected to be out of action for a long time.
Speaking at the pre-match press conference, Reading manager Veljko Paunovic revealed that he will make a late call on whether to include the Nigerian in his matchday squad.
"Ovie Ejaria is recovering well - we expect it to be a last-minute decision [for Saturday]," Paunovic said.
He added : "Andy Rinomhota is also progressing very well and, like Ejaria, it will be a last-minute decision. "
In 29 league outings for Reading this season, Ejaria has scored two goals while providing five assists.
