Arsenal product Iwobi sends message to Lacazette after striker's winning goal vs Tottenham
Published: March 15, 2021
Hale End Academy graduate Alex Iwobi was delighted to see Arsenal pick up three points in their Premier League encounter against Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday, courtesy of Alexandre Lacazette's winning goal from the penalty spot in the 64th minute.
The Nigeria international was on the books of the Gunners for fifteen years before sealing a permanent transfer to Everton in the summer of 2019.
Iwobi is aware of the huge rivalry that exists between Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur and he had his eye on yesterday's contest at the Emirates Stadium even though his loyalty lies elsewhere.
During his Arsenal days, the Super Eagles playmaker faced Tottenham Hotspur six times and the results were a mixed bag - winning, drawing and losing twice each.
Lacazette took to Instagram to celebrate the win against Spurs, writing : "North London is red. Happy with this win. You guys deserve it 🔴♣️".
Replying to the post by the Frenchman, Iwobi posted a smiling face with heart-shaped eyes emoji, "😍".
Iwobi was in the Everton side that lost 2-1 to Burnley in a Premier League clash this past weekend.
