Liverpool and Chelsea among clubs interested in signing 'Jack Grealish-like' Nigerian midfielder
Published: April 03, 2021Liverpool are interested in signing Reading's Nigeria-eligible midfielder Michael Olise but face competition from the Premier League and abroad, according to reports.
The 19-year-old, who was named on the Super Eagles standby list for their recent Africa Cup of Nations qualifying matches with the Republic of Benin and Lesotho, is having a banner season, scoring 5 goals and setting up 10 others in 37 appearances in the second-tier.
Eurosport says Olise is expected to move onto pastures new in the summer transfer window, with Borussia Dortmund, RB Leipzig, Liverpool, Manchester City, Chelsea, Napoli and Monaco credited with an interest.
Capable of playing as a number 10 and winger, Olise has drawn comparisons with Aston Villa star Jack Grealish due to his dangerous potent style of play.
Olise's contract with Reading runs out at the end of next season and is not keen on extending his stay at the Madejski Stadium.
The transfer fee being mooted to sign the Franco-Anglo-Nigerian midfielder is in the region of eight million pounds.
Before switching to Reading in 2015, he played for the academy teams of Chelsea and Manchester City.
