Wycombe Wanderers' Onyedinma named at left-back in Championship Team of the Week
Published: April 04, 2021Wycombe Wanderers' Nigerian-born youngster Fred Onyedinma has been included in the latest Championship Team of the Week by football statistics website Whoscored.com.
The 24-year-old netted the winning goal two minutes into the second half as the Chairboys registered a 1-0 win over Blackburn Rovers in a gameweek 39 clash at Adams Park on April 2.
Onyedinma nodded home from close range following an excellent delivery from Joe Jacobson - his fourth goal in his last eight home games for Wycombe Wanderers.
In a 4-4-2 formation, Onyedinma, who is principally a winger, was deployed at left-back and was the top-rated player at 9.4.
Against Blackburn Rovers, he won a joint team high five aerial duels, made one key pass, one of his two shots was on target, completed two take-ons, was the most fouled player (5), and was accurate in 63.6 percent of his passes.
Coming to his defensive statistics, he made a game-high eight interceptions and made a team-high four tackles.
