Super Eagles striker Simy proud of 150-game milestone for Crotone
Published: April 07, 2021
Simeon Tochukwu Nwankwo says he is proud to hit the 150-game milestone for Italian club Crotone, five years after his arrival from Gil Vicente FC in Portugal.
The striker's appearance against Napoli on April 3 took him to 150 appearances for the Sharks in all competitions.
He has recorded 73 appearances in the Serie A, played 70 games in the Serie B and seven in the Coppa Italia, scoring 61 goals across five seasons.
"I don't like to talk on a personal level as you know. 150 games wearing this shirt are a source of pride for me and I am very proud of what I have done in these 5 years, since the first day I arrived I have felt the affection and love of everyone," Simy said to Crotone's official website.
The Super Eagle was disappointed to be on the losing side as Crotone fell to Victor Osimhen's Napoli in their last match in the Serie A, despite the number 25 scoring a brace.
"Scoring 3 goals at Napoli is a lot of stuff but in the end it didn't help because it was important to score points . We have to raise our heads and keep pedaling," Simy said.
Simy is hoping Crotone will bounce back when they face Spezia in their next Serie A match on Saturday, April 10.
"It will be a direct match, we have to put everything on the pitch because it is a game that can give us a lot," he concluded.
