Arsenal captain Aubameyang reveals he has lowdown on Slavia's African stars, including Olayinka
Published: April 08, 2021Speaking to the Arsenal matchday programme for the visit of Slavia Prague, Gunners captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang revealed that he has the lowdown on the African players in the ranks of the Czech champions.
Ivory Coast international Simon Deli will not be involved tonight owning to injury and his international teammate Ibrahim Traoré is rated as doubtful, but manager Jindrich Trpisovsky can count on the services of Nigeria striker Peter Olayinka, Senegal's teenage sensation Abdallah Sima and Liberia midfielder Oscar Dorley.
Olayinka has scored some important goals for Slavia Prague in this season's Europa League, not least his flying header in last month's win against Glasgow Rangers at Ibrox Stadium.
"They are a very strong squad, I know there are some really good African players in the team as well that I know about, so we have no excuses - we will be ready for them and will give everything to get through to the next round," Aubameyang stated.
Meanwhile, Nigeria-eligible midfielder Miguel Azeez is in contention to be named in the matchday squad as he was involved in Arsenal's final workout at London Colney on Wednesday afternoon.
The last time Slavia Prague visited the Emirates Stadium was back in 2008 and they were thrashed 7-0.
