Galatasaray explain decision to drop Onyekuru from matchday squad vs Trabzonspor

Galatasaray have explained the reasoning behind the decision to drop Henry Onyekuru from the matchday squad for Wednesday evening's Turkish Super Lig clash against Trabzonspor at Turk Telekom Stadyumu (Istanbul).
Manager Fatih Terim has selected twenty players for the matchday 36 fixture and the Nigeria international has been omitted due to injury.
Former Nigeria U20 international Valentine Ozornwafor and Super Eagles midfielder Oghenekaro Etebo are among the nine substitutes for the Lions, while Anthony Nwakaeme starts for Trabzonspor.
"Henry Onyekuru was removed from the Trabzonspor match squad due to the pain in the upper right back muscle," Galatasaray said in a statement.
Since returning to Galatasaray for a third spell in the January transfer window, Onyekuru has appeared in seventeen matches in all competitions, including 12 in the league, scoring five goals and registering 3 assists.
In terms of the league table, Galatasaray are third with 65 points while Trabzonspor are fourth with 59 points.
